I'm Oscar, a freelance web developer based in St John's Wood. I build websites for small businesses and studios across London, and I've been doing it for over 10 years.
I built the site for Riff Raff Entertainment, Jude Law's production company, and a custom site for Stuart Carlisle, a London interior design studio. I've also spent years building HTML5 banner campaigns for PlayStation, Activision and Square Enix.
Working with London businesses
Most of the businesses I work with are small. Studios, production companies, people running a business who need a website that does its job and doesn't cost a fortune.
If you're nearby, in Maida Vale, Marylebone, Swiss Cottage, Camden or round Regent's Park, meeting in person is easy. Further across London is fine too. Most of the work happens over email and calls anyway.
Why a freelancer and not an agency
London agencies cost what they cost for a reason. There's the office rent and a team of account managers, and somebody has to pay for all of it. That somebody is you.
I don't have any of that. You talk to me, I build the site, and you deal with the same person from the first call to launch and after it. If something's wrong, you email me and I fix it. No tickets, no being passed around.
If you need a whole team on a big campaign, hire an agency. For a small business site, honestly, you don't need one.
What I build
Custom websites, web applications, and e-commerce stores. I work with React, Next.js, Vue, and Astro for modern builds, and WordPress when it genuinely makes sense. Everything is mobile-first, performance-optimised, and built with SEO in mind from the start.

How it works
We start with a chat. A call, a video call, or a coffee if you're nearby. I'll put together a clear scope and price, and once you're happy, I build it. You get a staging link so you can watch it come together, and I send updates without being chased.
How long it takes depends on the plan. Starter sites usually take 1-2 weeks, Professional sites 2-4 weeks and Custom builds 4-6 weeks.
Pricing
Plans start at £70/month with no upfront cost. That covers design, development, hosting and updates. Professional is £150/month and adds a CMS so you can edit the site yourself. Custom starts at £250/month for bespoke builds, e-commerce and web apps.
There's a minimum term: 12 months for Starter and Professional, 18 months for Custom. After that the site's yours. Everything's on the pricing page.
