Web developer based in Bristol, 15 minutes from Bath Spa

I'm a freelance web developer based in Bristol. Bath is a 15-minute train ride away, and I'm happy to come over for a kickoff meeting, a coffee, or anything that's easier face to face. Most of the actual work happens remotely because that's what makes sense for both of us, but the option's there.

The honest reason to hire me over a Bath agency: I don't have Bath overheads. No office on Milsom Street, no account managers, no project coordinators. You talk to me, I do the work, and the savings get passed on. I've been doing web development for over 10 years and I've built sites for clients ranging from Jude Law's production company to local renewable energy businesses in the South West.

What I build

Business websites, e-commerce stores, web applications. I work with Astro, Next.js, Vue, and React for custom builds, and WordPress when it's genuinely the right fit. Everything I build is mobile-first, fast-loading, and built with search engines in mind from day one.

I also build HTML5 banner campaigns for agencies and brands. Email me if you'd like to see the private portfolio.

How it works in practice

We'll start with a call or a meeting. I'll come to Bath if that's easier for you. After that, most communication happens over email and video calls. I send progress updates regularly and you'll have a staging link to check the site as it comes together. If something needs a face-to-face conversation, I can be in Bath the same day.

Pricing

I offer a £69/month plan that covers design, development, hosting, and ongoing updates. No big upfront cost, no lock-in beyond the first year. For larger or more complex projects I quote on a per-project basis. Either way, you'll know the full cost before any work starts.

Get in touch

I also work with clients in Bristol and London.

Common questions

No. Most of my work is remote with clients across the UK and beyond. Bath is convenient because I'm just down the road in Bristol, so in-person meetings are easy when they're useful.

Usually within a day or two. Bristol Temple Meads to Bath Spa is about 15 minutes, and I'm flexible with my schedule. First meetings are always free.

Design, development, hosting, SSL, ongoing updates, and basic support. You get a professional site without paying thousands upfront. If you need something more complex, I'll quote the project separately.

Yes. I regularly take over sites built by other developers or agencies. WordPress, Shopify, custom builds. I'll have a look and tell you honestly what state it's in.

It depends on the project. Astro and Next.js for fast, modern sites. Vue or React when there's interactive functionality. WordPress when it genuinely fits. I pick the right tool rather than defaulting to one stack.
